Yes, our full online course is fully up to date with the latest version of BS 7671, including Amendment 4 released in April 2026. That means you’ll be learning the most current regulations used in the industry, giving you confidence that your knowledge is accurate, relevant, and ready to apply in real-world electrical work.

Yes, you can take your City & Guilds 2382-26 (18th Edition inc A4) exam from the comfort of your own home. The exam is completed under secure remote invigilation, meaning you’re monitored online to ensure everything runs fairly and smoothly. To get set up, you’ll just need:
* A quiet space where you won’t be disturbed
* A Windows PC or laptop
* A webcam and microphone
* A stable internet connection
* Photo ID for verification
* The Google Chrome web browser installed
As long as you’ve got those in place, you’re good to go — no need to travel to an exam centre.

Our course is based on the traditional 3–4 day classroom 18th Edition course, but gives you the flexibility to learn at your own pace.
Most learners complete the course in between 2 weeks and 3 months, depending on how much time they can fit in around work and other commitments.
If you’re keen to get qualified quickly, you can move through the course faster. Prefer to take your time and build confidence? That works just as well, there’s no pressure. You’ll have up to 12 months to complete your course and exam, giving you plenty of time to prepare properly and feel ready.
Plus, you’re not on your own — we’re here to support you throughout, helping you stay on track and fully prepared to pass your exam first time.

We are an approved City & Guilds centre, so you’ll be completing the official 18th Edition qualification through us. Once you successfully pass your exam, you’ll receive a recognised City & Guilds certificate through the post, which is accepted across the electrical industry.

The exam is open book, so you’ll need your own copy of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018 + Amendment 4:2026) — commonly known as the orange book.
You’ll use this throughout the course as well as in the exam, so becoming familiar with it is a key part of your success. Don’t worry if you’re not used to navigating it yet — we’ll guide you on how to find information quickly and confidently.

We don’t believe in making unrealistic promises — so we can’t guarantee a pass.
Your success ultimately comes down to the time and effort you put into your studies. That said, you’ll be fully supported throughout the course to give you the best possible chance of passing first time.
We’re proud to have helped hundreds of learners successfully pass their City & Guilds exam, and our course is designed to build your understanding and confidence step by step.
For extra peace of mind, we also offer a free resit if you don’t pass first time — so you can go again without additional exam costs.

There are no formal entry requirements for our 18th Edition online course, so you can enrol whether you’re new to the industry or already working and looking to update your qualifications.
The course is designed to guide you step by step, making it accessible even if you haven’t completed the 17th Edition before.
Once you successfully pass your exam, you’ll receive the official City & Guilds 2382-26 (18th Edition) certificate, giving you a recognised qualification that supports your career in the electrical industry.

If you already hold the 18th Edition qualification, there’s no need to retake the full exam. Instead, you can complete our Amendment 4 update course, which focuses specifically on the changes introduced in April 2026. It’s a quicker and more efficient way to bring your knowledge up to date without going over content you already know.
There isn’t an official City & Guilds exam or certificate for this update. However, you’ll receive our in-house certificate of completion, which you can use as evidence of your continued professional development and up-skilling.
This is a popular option for 18th Edition qualified electricians who want to stay current with the latest regulations while saving time.
